TARAKANY! and MARKY RAMONE announce joint "Ramones Night" European tour featuring Ramones material
Punk legend Marky Ramone (Ramones) has once again teamed up with Russia's best-known punk band, Tarakany! for a 16 date European tour featuring Ramones classics as well as original Tarakany! material. Called the "Ramones Night" tour, the night will first feature Tarakany! playing a set of songs from their last two albums. The second half of each show, Marky Ramone will join Tarakany! on drums and will feature classic Ramones songs.
Tarakany!'s tenth album - their first to be released worldwide - Freedom Street, has just been released on Zurich Chainsaw Massacre Records. Their eleventh album, Rockets from Russia, is coming straight on the heels of Freedom Street and is being released on FM Molchit Records with exclusive distribution outside of Russia by ZCM Records.
This isn't the first time Marky Ramone and Tarakany! have worked together. In 2003, they teamed up as Marky Ramone and the Pinhead Army for three shows in Russia.

Tarakany! (that’s cockroaches to you and me) began life in Moscow, Russia in 1991. Communism was failing, the cold war was ending and punk was emerging in the public eye for the first time in Russia, the voice of angry youth began to be heard. Tarakany! was one of the first punk bands to emerge from the new Russian Federation, and have remained strong ever since.
For the first 12 years of the band's life, Tarakany! has released nine albums and performed in more then 800 concerts. Until 2004, Tarakany!, despite their popularity in Russia, was relatively unknown outside their home country. This has changed with the release of their 10th album, Freedom Street, now available on Zurich Chainsaw Massacre Records.
They've toured Japan as well as parts of Europe, along with touring and playing large festivals in Russia. In 2003 Tarakany! organized a Russian tour, which ended with three shows in collaboration project with the legendary Marky Ramone under the name Marky Ramone & The Pinhead Army.
Tarakany! has been influenced by the Ramones, Bad Religion, Pennywise, TSOL, and others, but don’t try and pigeonhole them. They may be a punk band, but you’ll also hear influences from ska, metal, and other genres floating through their songs.
